I recently retired the Canon S5IS which I’ve been shooting with for about two years. Many of the shots I took for this blog – especially those extremely close-up shots – were taken with the S5, with a Raynox macro-converter attached.
However, I find that I’ve outgrown the S5 as a photographer. So, I went camera shopping, and decided upon the Panasonic FZ-100 as a substitute. These are some sample shots taken with the FZ-100, also with the macro converter attached.

CG: Invest in a new camera! =D I’m slowly saving up for a new DSLR too, to upgrade from my old one. LOL.

Oh I will eventually. I just like to use what I have until they can’t be used any more, then replace them. Don’t need to accumulate more things or add to landfills unnecessarily…

That’s true, too. For me, camera equipment has a high traffic in my life once I decide on buying/selling stuff. So, I’ve sold my S5 to my brother since he’s been eyeing it for a long time. =)

I’m using a very decent point & shoot Olympus, and luckily for me, my brother shares his Nikon for the great bird shots. If not for cameras, we wouldn’t know half the birds that visit the area!
